How to turn Microsoft's commercial changes into an MSP security win

If you've been putting off the Business Premium conversation with your Standard customers, now is the moment to pick it back up.

Why consider Business Premium now?

On 1 July 2026, Microsoft raised the price of almost every commercial plan it sells. Basic went up. Standard went up. Business Premium held its ground.

Premium is the same strong plan it was in June, and it's now the one that didn't ask anything more of your customers' budgets. The distance between the two has closed on its own, and it closes even further for anyone already buying security tools separately.

The objection you've been hearing for years just lost most of its weight.

What Business Premium unlocks

This is where a customer goes from productivity to actual control. Real device management across every platform. Conditional Access instead of all-or-nothing security defaults. Endpoint protection you can configure and report on. Email protection they already had, now with the policy control to shape it properly.

That shift matters more every year, because of what our customers are being asked to produce. Cyber insurance renewals, supply chain questionnaires, framework assessments: a control existing somewhere in the tenant counts for nothing now. It has to be enforced, and it has to be evidenced device by device. That's the standard, and it isn't loosening.

A Standard tenant can't meet it. Its device management is Basic Mobility and Security, which is closer to app-level management than real device control. It governs how company data behaves inside supported apps. It does not give you the device itself.

Under 300 seats, Premium is the answer. That cap isn't a limitation: it's the definition of who the plan is for, and it covers most of your base.

What inforcer gives you

The licence lands the capability in the tenant. Configuring it is still on your shoulders, in every tenant, the same way, every time. We've all felt how heavy that configuration work gets.

That's where we come in. We built inforcer to handle that exact part.

We've already built 15+ blueprint baselines, ready to deploy, so you can close the security gap without reinventing the wheel in every tenant you manage. Using these blueprint baselines gives you tenant-wide configurations, plus project-based baselines for the work as it comes up: identity and access, Windows, macOS, and email protection.

What you win

  • Higher-value seats, because the upgrade is easier to sell than it has been in years.
  • Hours back on every rollout, because our blueprint baselines mean the configuration already exists. You deploy it rather than build it from scratch, keeping the exact same standard everywhere.
  • A service you can stand behind, because the controls are genuinely enforced on your customers' devices and you can point at them when someone asks.

The case has never been easier to make. The delivery no longer has to be the hard part.

Where does this stall for you most often: the price conversation, or the work behind it?

And if you want help positioning this with your customers, get in touch with us. It's a conversation we have often, and we're always happy to work through it with you.
